So let’s begin the bout!

1. Size and Weight: Nexus One is thinner than Nokia N97 with 130g in weight and 11.5mm in thickness, whereas Nokia N97 weighs 150 g with a thickness of 15.9mm.

2. Display: Nexus One has a large 3.7″ Capacitive high resolution OLED display with resolution of 480×800 pixels, whereas Nokia N97 has 3.5 inches TFT resistive touch display with 360 x 640 pixels.

3. Keyboard: Nexus One has an Onscreen virtual keyboard, while Nokia N97 has Slide-out full QWERTY keyboard plus Alphanumeric Onscreen virtual keyboard (also handwriting recognition).

4. Multitouch: Nexus One has the biggest advantage with multitouch support while Nokia N97 supports multitouch only in few apps.

Every single text area in Android 2.1 is speech-to-text (Google Voice recognition) enabled, which means you can say your text messages, emails, tweets, notes to self, whatever.

5. Sensors: Nexus One has an extra mic at the back to reduce background noise, whereas Nokia N97 lacks an extra mic and thus background noise reduction features.

6. Camera: Though both phones sports a 5 megapixel camera (2592×1944 pixels) with LED flash, I believe the Nokia N97′s Carl Zeiss optic lens make it stand out.

7. Processor: The Qualcomm Snapdragon(TM) 8250 processor of the Nexus One is surely the winner, with speeds of up to 1GHz while Nokia N97′s ARM 11 processor only has 434MHz.

With audio and video playback to go with a library of 5 megapixel camera snaps, storage has become an issue. So let’s take a peak.

8. Storage: Nexus One has 512MB internal memory, 512MB RAM and expandable up to 32GB, whereas Nokia N97 has 32GB onboard, 128 MB RAM and up to 16GB expandable therefore taking this round.

9. Operating System: Nexus One runs the Google Android 2.1 os. on the other hand Nokia N97 operates on Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5, with Nexus One taking this round.

10. Battery: Life of removable 1400 mAh battery in Nexus One performs admirably, but I think Li-Ion 1500 mAh (BP-4L) battery on the Nokia N97 is better.

11. Video: Nexus One has the higher video resolution with 720×480  @ 20FPS, but Nokia has the fastest with 30FPS @ 640×480 pixels.

12. Trackball: Tri-color notification LED, alerts when new emails, chats, text messages arrive.

The Nexus One may have surpass the Nokia N97 smartphone in performance, display quality, and speed, but it is still not yet a full-fledged business device.

And though it may not have all the features we’d like, Nexus One greatly enhances the Google Android family with a fast processor, good call quality, and improved voice control features.

Comparing newer technology to older is a little bit unfair, ‘coz it’s pretty clear that the Nexus One is more capable than what’s found in Nokia’s N97.  But  this is by no means  just a definitive guide to what technology  we have right now compare to last 2009 and I’m pretty sure you’ll have your own opinions. You could look at a few other smaller issues but I believe these have been the most important keys.

Nokia 7100 Supernova is a smooth sliding stylish phone that comes with vibrant colours. It features advanced technologies that can support multimedia functions while proving Internet-based service features. Additionally, the Nokia 7100 Supernova offers 2 QVGA screen and Opera mini browser to surf the web through a GPRS connection. It also supports EGPRS, EDGE for fast data network and MS Outlook Synchronization for contacts, notes and calender.

Just like any other conventional phones, this device provides call features including contacts with added images, hands-free speakerphone, automatic answer, call timer, call divert, call waiting, automatic dialling, speed dialling, call hold, lists of missed/received/dialled calls, vibrating alert, and ring tones.

In terms of productivity The Nokia 7100 also comes with a nice collection of application tools to help the user, this application includes Flight Mode, Power Organiser, Reminder and Voice Dialling to name only a few of the fantastic tools available.

In summary, Nokia 7100 Supernova is a great compact mobile phone with many features and functions. It doesn’t offer a high end spec mobile phone as it doesn’t offer a fantastic camera or great video recording capabilities, but still has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and productivity.

There has been so much hype with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, but will it live up to the promise? In all technical prowess, it’s much the same as the Blackberry. It features an interactive panel interface that lets you customize the smartphone depending on your needs. In terms of processing power, Xperia X1 is impressive, with a 520 MHz Qualcomm chipset.

Another good thing about this phone is that it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a touch screen version which if compared to iPhone that only have a touch screen keyboard. The slight curve makes it comfortable to hold the phone when typing messages. It has a decent weight with 145g, not too heavy and feels really thin with all its power inside.

It has a 3-inch touch screen that displays 65,536 colors at an 800×480 pixel resolution which really booms out crisp and vibrant technicolour, also it is 2.5 times higher than that of the iPhone 3G. I just have to say it’s that this is one of the best-looking screen ever seen on a Windows Mobile device.

The phone comes with a generous 400MB of internal memory, 256MB RAM and 512MB storage memory. It’s 3.2-megapixel camera will allow you to capture images very vibrantly, and has autofocus capabilities. Also X1′s connectivity combination of HSDPA, Wi-Fi and AGPS makes it very essential for customers looking to use the phone for business purposes.
