Virgin Mobile was the world's first Mobile virtual network operator, It does not maintain its own network, and instead has contracts to use the existing network(s) of other providers. Launched in 1999 and used by several mobile phone service providers operating in the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United States (US) and France. In all countries, Virgin Mobile offers prepaid pay as you go service, while the post-paid option was available only to approved customers in few countries.
There are three main types of ringtones this are monophonic, polyphonic and real tones.
Monophonic is the oldest type of ringtone, and consist of a set of beeps, where only 1 can be played at a time thus monophonic. It comprises of a series of sequential tones at varying frequencies.
Polyphonic ringtones have the ability to play 16 tones simultaneously at once creating a harmonic melody. It's consist of a synthesised sound allowing a wider range of higher-quality beeps to be played at once.
Real tones, are the newest type of ringtone, it is an original voice and original instruments. It's also called as music ringtones. The actual song is cut to about 30 seconds and then converted into the one supported by the phone, some uses mp3 others wav files.
