About nTelos
A Virginia based telecommunications company which operates a CDMA PCS in Virginia, West Virginia, and portions of Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Founded in 1897, the company which began as a regional landline telecom provider is now planning to upgrade it's network to a high-speed wireless data service based on Alcatel-Lucent's Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Rev A technology.
This new technology is a welcome addition to the region, now cell phone, PDA/Smartphone and PC users will have access to a secure, high-speed wireless connection. Also, the company continue to expand since 1998 nTelos has invested more than $240 million in the Virginia wireless network, and this year 100 new cell sites are planned for the Virginia network.
