Created in 1947, LG Group is a large South Korean conglomerate which produces electronics, mobile phones, and petrochemical products and operates subsidiaries like LG Electronics and LG Chem operating in over 80 countries. "LG" is an abbrevation of "Lucky Goldstar". Before then many consumer electronics were sold under the brand name GoldStar, while some other household products were sold under the brand name of Lucky in Korea.

It now focuses on the design and marketing of phones such as the LG Shine and LG Prada (KE850).
